Playing in fog so thick that marshals had to stand on the fairways of some holes to give golfers a target, Pennsylvania club pro Bob Ford took a three-shot lead after two rounds of the Pebble Beach Invitational in California.

Ford shot a 67 on the Del Monte course for a two-round total of 133.

The tournament features head-to-head competition among pros on the PGA, Senior PGA and LPGA tours, as well as such guests as Ford.

Val Skinner, who shot a 65, leads the women with a 3-under 141.

The teams of Tom Kite and Jay Haas and Steve Elkington and Mark Calcavecchia shot 8-under-par 64s to share the first-round lead in the $1.1 million Shark Shootout at Thousand Oaks, Calif.
