Unc, Villanova In Finals

Kerry Kittles scored 23 points to lead a balanced attack and No. 3 Villanova held off several second-half rallies in beating Santa Clara 77-65 Tuesday to advance to the championship game at the Maui Invitational in Lahaina, Hawaii.

In addition to his scoring, Kittles had 13 rebounds. Eric Eberz added 18 points, Jason Lawson 13 and Alvin Williams 12 for the Wildcats.

Villanova took control early, building a 39-25 advantage by halftime. Villanova will face North Carolina today.

Dante Calabria scored 22 points and Jeff McInnis 21 to lead the Tar Heels past the Spartans. The Tar Heels led 46-31 at the half and built the lead to 26 points less than 5 minutes into the second half.

(4) UCLA 68, Wisconsin 57

Also at the Maui Invitational, J.R. Henderson scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Toby Bailey scored 18 as the Bruins rebounded from a season-opening loss and beat the Badgers.

UCLA took a 31-26 halftime lead as Henderson scored 10 points and Bailey scored nine.
