Coeur D’Alenes Co. Reports Mixed Results

The Coeur d’Alenes Co. reported Wednesday a decrease in fourth-quarter earnings but an increase for the year ended Sept. 30.

Net income for the quarter was $49,647, or 1 cent per share, on revenues of $3.3 million. In the comparable 1994 period, the steel fabricator earned $175,828, or 4 cents per share, on revenues of $2.9 million.

But for the year, net income was $256,587, or 6 cents per share, on revenues of $12.1 million. In 1994, the company earned $214,942, 5 cents per share, on revenues of $10.8 million.

The company, which begins its 112th year in 1996, broke ground in September on a 42,000-square-foot expansion at 3900 E. Broadway. The space is intended primarily for heavy steel fabrication but also will provide additional storage for a subsidiary.

Completion is expected in the spring.

The company also is seeking a patent on a system for covering open rail cars. , DataTimes
