Leading Scorer Rejoins Chiefs

The news keeps getting better for the fast-starting Spokane Chiefs.

The Western Hockey League team, off to a 3-1 start, learned Thursday that last year’s scoring leader, Jason Podollan, was on his way back from the National Hockey League Panthers.

Podollan won’t suit for tonight’s game with the Portland Winter Hawks, but will play Monday night when Spokane visits Kamloops.

Podollan had 43 goals and 41 assists to lead Spokane in both categories last season. The Chiefs also announced that Darren Sinclair, who centers their tough first line, has come to terms with the NHL Vancouver Canucks. Sinclair, 19, was an undrafted free agent.
