Man Shot In Leg After Confrontation

From Staff Reports

A man was shot in the leg late Friday after two men struggled for control of a gun in a parking lot in north Spokane.

Witnesses told police two men left the Electron Palace at 7452 N. Division with their girlfriends about 11 p.m. and were confronted by two men in a car. The passengers yelled a name at one of the men and he responded.

The driver stopped the car and the passenger got out with a gun. Words were exchanged and the passenger pointed the gun at the head of the man who responded, police said.

The two began to struggle for the gun and fell to the pavement. A shot was fired and a 22-year-old man was shot in the upper right thigh.

The passenger, who police believe shot the man, ran from the parking lot.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

Police have the name of the passenger, but no arrests have been made yet. , DataTimes
