Seattle University President Hospitalized After Mild Stroke
The president of Seattle University was hospitalized after suffering a mild stroke, school officials said.
The Rev. William Sullivan, 64, was resting comfortably Saturday at Providence Medical Center and listed in good condition. He will be hospitalized for at least a week before being sent home, university spokesman Paul Blake said.
Provost John Eshelman will assume Sullivan’s duties while Sullivan recovers.
Sullivan, a Jesuit who has served as SU president since 1970, has canceled an upcoming trip to Asia along with Monday’s convocation, Blake said.
