Woman With Gun Robs Convenience Store

A woman robbed a Qwik Stop at gunpoint early Saturday and escaped with a small amount of money, police said.

The clerk at the Qwik Stop, 3021 E. Wellesley, said that the woman entered the store and went to the restroom. After several minutes, she came out and showed the clerk a revolver, police said. She told the clerk to open the cash register, and she reached inside and grabbed some bills.

The woman then walked out the front door. She left in a white 1990s pickup, perhaps with another person inside. The truck was described as a Nissan or Mazda extended-cab model.

The woman was white, in her 40s, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and 130 pounds. She had wavy shoulder-length brown hair and wore a red coat.
