The King has been swiped in Sweden.

A 19-foot canvas depiction of Elvis was hanging in the southern city of Malmoe to advertise a local production of “Elvis: the Man, the Music, the Legend.”

When the American expatriate director, Brett Alan, approached the theater entrance Friday night, he noticed some youths busily detaching the banner from its pole. He asked what they were doing, and was told:

“We’re taking this thing down every night, because of the risk of theft,” the thieves said, according to the national news agency TT.
