Robert Hubof Named Employee Of The Month

Robert Hubof was named Best Western Templin’s Resort Employee of the Month for September.

Hubof started at the resort as an assistant server, transferred to the conference center as a banquet server and was recently promoted to banquet captain.

He has been with Templin’s since April 1993.

Dave Corbeill, a consumer economics and world history teacher at Post Falls High School, has been named runner-up for Idaho Educator of the Year Award presented by the Idaho Council on Economic Education.

Corbeill, a 22-year teacher at Post Falls, encourages his students to learn more about economics through newspapers, videos, local businesses and seminars sponsored by the ICEE.

Since 1985, his students have participated in the ICEE’s statewide Stock Market Game. The Post Falls team of Steve Mahaffey and Cliff Lickfold finished first in the region this spring.

William Lehrer Jr., Hayden Lake, received the Washington State University Alumni Achievement Award.

Lehrer was cited “for national and international recognition in the field of animal nutrition and leadership in agricultural education.” He is an internationally known animal scientist.

Marya Bruning, a Coeur d’Alene High School senior, was selected as Panhandle Kiwanis Student of the Month for September.

Bruning, who has a 3.917 grade-point average, is a member of the National Honor Society and has earned varsity letters in swimming and academics. She was a four-time world final qualifier with the Odyssey of the Mind creative problem-solving team and is a member of the school orchestra.

She logged more than 800 hours as a hospital teen volunteer and has worked as a lifeguard at Sta-Fit Athletic Club and as a dietary aide at Kootenai Medical Center.

She plans to attend University of Idaho for preveterinary courses.

Second Lt. Pamela Cummings is stationed with the Marine Corp in Quantico, Va. She is the daughter of Gary Cummings, Moscow, and Carol and Jimmy Jones, Spokane. She is a 1987 graduate of Mead High School and a 1991 graduate of Washington State University.
