Saberhagen Undergoes Surgery

Two-time Cy Young Award winner Bret Saberhagen underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair ligament damage in his pitching shoulder.

Saberhagen, a right-hander acquired from the New York Mets on July 31, also had dead tissue removed from his rotator cuff and shoulder area by Dr. David Altchek in New York.

Saberhagen will rest for a few weeks.
