First Lady Celebrates Birthday At Hoedown
Sat., Oct. 28, 1995
First lady Hillary Rodham Clinton went with a big-hair look at a Western square-dance party to celebrate her birthday Friday night, a day after she turned 48 years old.
Escorted by the president, Clinton wore a “Dolly Parton-type blond wig,” and Western wear, including a blue checked skirt and white blouse, to entertain 150 guests at the White House, her spokesman Neel Lattimore said.
The guests included White House staff and friends, including some from the Clintons’ home state of Arkansas. The partygoers square-danced before moving to the State Dining Room where Hillary Clinton was presented with a cake shaped like a barn with hay bales, and serenaded with “Happy Birthday.”
