Dmitri Leonov scored twice for Spokane but the Chiefs lost to the Tri-City Americans 8-4 in a Western Hockey League exhibition game on Thursday night.
Spokane also got goals from Jared Hope and Darren Sinclair.
Chiefs goaltender David Lemanowicz stopped 18 shots in the first period and start of the second before being replaced by Blaine Russell, who had 14 saves.
Spokane plays Portland at Kimberly, British Columbia tonight at 7:30.
