Sandpoint Scores Late To Edge Bonners Ferry

Jeremy Thielbahr ran 8 yards for a touchdown with less than 3 minutes remaining then Brett Taylor completed the conversion pass to Casey McLaughlin as the Bulldogs beat the visiting Badgers, 29-22, in a non-league football game Friday night.

The winning score was set up by a fumble recovery on the Bonners Ferry 30-yard line.

Bonners Ferry had taken a 22-21 lead on Matt Myers’ 54-yard TD run and his conversion run in the third quarter.

Myers rushed 27 times for 267 yards.

Thielbahr had 15 carries for 114 yards for Sandpoint and teammate Carson Jeffries 142 on six carries.

Mullan 72, Falls Christian 24

Mullan quarterback Danny Fritz passed for three touchdowns and ran for three more as the Tigers won their second game of the season in impressive fashion over the visiting Eagles of Falls Christian.

Fritz threw for 218 yards on 6-for-13 passing and ran the ball in on carries of 41, 20, and 1 yards. Fritz also had help from running back David Reed, who rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns on just six carries.

Falls Christian gave up 34 first-quarter points. Eagles running back Tyson Allen rushed for more than 200 yards.

Kellogg 20, Wallace 20

Kellogg missed a field goal with time running out that would have given the Wildcats their first victory in two years.

Kellogg led 20-0 after the first three quarters. Wallace scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter, but missed an extra point.

Lakeside 36, Clark Fork 7

At Clark Fork, Buck Allen piled up 285 total yards, catching passes for 104, rushing for 101 and returning two kicks for 80 yards as the Knights improved to 2-0 in the North Star League by routing the Wampus Cats (0-2).

Allen scored three touchdowns and caught a pass for a two-point conversion for Lakeside.

Mario Falciani completed 8 of 11 passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns, while teammate Sam Lozeau carried seven times for 107 yards.

For Clark Fork, Ian Reuter completed 18 of 35 passes for 156 yards.

Troy rambled to an easy non-league victory as Kootenai lost two linemen early.
