Rookie Tight End Fauria Gets Top Job

Tacoma News Tribune

Joey Galloway won’t be the only rookie starter in the Seattle offense Sunday.

Tight end Christian Fauria was promoted to the starting lineup Friday following a good week of practice and his three-catch, 37-yard debut against Kansas City last Sunday. Carlester Crumpler, last week’s starter, is also expected to play against the San Diego Chargers Sunday in Jack Murphy Stadium.

Crumpler caught one pass for 3 yards Sunday.

Seahawks notes

Cornerback Corey Harris missed Friday’s workout to fly to Indianapolis for a funeral following a death in his family. … Robb Thomas won the third receiver job in place of Ricky Proehl, who is out eight weeks with a broken leg. James McKnight will also play. … Halfback Chris Warren’s trial on a fourth-degree assault charge is tentatively set for March.
