Book report: “Accessible Trails in Washington’s Backcountry” (The Mountaineers, $12.95) is a compilation of 85 outings around Washington state, from the Olympic Peninsula to Eastern Washington.
The hikes allow easy access to wheelchair hikers, the visually impaired, the elderly, parents with strollers, or anybody who just wants a gentle stroll through the countryside.
Trail descriptions include information about access, difficulty, length, restroom availability, parking and best months of the year to go. And every hike mentioned includes a phone number for more information. Overall, an excellent book.
