Big-Name Country Crooner To Open Big New Arena In Style

A Nobel prize winner, an expert on Chinese trade and

political cartoonist Milt Priggee are among the range of speakers appearing this week at various business meetings in the Pacific Northwest.

But for many people in Spokane, the highlight will be a country music concert. Musician John Michael Montgomery on Saturday will open the $62 million Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena, with the first public concert at the 12,500-seat, downtown facility.

First of four Washington Department of Revenue workshops on the equipment sales tax exemption for manufacturers begins at 9 a.m. at Spokane Community College, Sasquatch Room of Building 6.
