One Killed In King County Plane Crash

From Staff And Wire Reports

One person was killed Sunday morning when a single-engine Cessna plane crashed on a hill near Black Diamond in South King County, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

No information was available on whether the victim was a woman or man, nor where the plane came from or was heading, said Gary Mayer, an FAA regional duty officer in Seattle.

The 11:45 a.m. crash was reported by someone who saw flames in the area, Mayer said.

FAA investigators were at the crash site Sunday, and will be joined by the National Transportation Safety Board on Monday, he said.
