Man Enters Plea In Second Death

From Staff And Wire Reports

A man who killed his infant son in 1988 entered a modified guilty plea Monday to a second-degree murder charge in the death of another child.

Kenneth E. Galloway entered an Alford plea, in which a defendant does not admit guilt but acknowledges prosecutors have enough evidence to win a conviction.

Galloway faces 18-24 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled Sept. 25 in Spokane County Superior Court.

Galloway, 28, of Spokane, was accused of killing 2-year-old Devin Erb on April 4.

The child’s mother, Sara Erb, had left Devin in Galloway’s care. When she came home, the boy was unconscious and Galloway was gone, investigators said.

An autopsy concluded the boy died of traumatic injuries.

Galloway had served about four years in prison after pleading guilty in 1990 to manslaughter in the death of his infant son in Pierce County.
