A Nordstrom employee was arrested this week on suspicion of stealing at least $30,000 in merchandise, cash and phony commissions.

Laura L. Hendrickson, 29, 628 W. Kiernan, was booked into the Spokane County Jail on Thursday. She was released Friday after promising to return for court appearances.

The Spokane Police Department said Nordstrom security officers had been observing Hendrickson and had evidence that includes audits.

Hendrickson apparently stole some merchandise, listed sales commissions for herself that were fraudulent, and had taken some cash.

The thefts reportedly totaled at least $30,000. The operation occurred between the end of May and Thursday afternoon.
