Williams followed by lining a double into the right-center gap.

Clearing the bases

The Reds are satisfied with reliever Johnny Ruffin’s explanation of his arrest Tuesday on traffic charges.

Ruffin spent the night at the Hamilton County Justice Center, pleaded innocent at his arraignment, and was released after posting $50 bond.

Ruffin, 24, was a passenger in a car that was stopped at about 3 a.m. for a traffic violation, police said.
