Clinton Flush With Cash, Dole Running Out

Compiled From Wire Services

If the finances of the presidential candidates were part of a Monopoly game, President Clinton would have Park Place, several hotels, a Pass Go card and a Collect $200 card.

Bob Dole would have a couple of utilities.

With more than three months to go before the party conventions, Clinton is rolling in cash and Dole is running out. The president’s March campaign finance report shows that Clinton has nearly $21 million left after spending $2.89 million during the month.

Dole, who has not released his March spending report yet, went into the month with about $6 million left out of the $37 million he’s allowed to spend during the primary season.

Dole spent $2.7 million in February, and if he continued to spend at a heavy rate in March - another month of heavy campaigning - he would have just a few million left.
