Old Habits Die Hard

Associated Press

In an age when ordinary Janes and Joes are happy to tell their most intimate secrets to nationwide television audiences, it is hardly surprising that many travelers have no inhibitions about discussing their hotel-room sleeping habits.

In a national survey conducted for Manor Care’s Sleep Inn, 32 percent of travelers said they brought their own pillows, 9 percent brought a night light, and 14 percent leave the bathroom light on all night.

In a recent survey conducted by Fodor’s Travel Publications, 59 percent of hotel guests said they checked the bed sheets for cleanliness, and 33 percent of men and 19 percent of women used the minibar. Four percent admit to stealing the towels.
