North Side Bank Robbed By Man Who Said He Had Gun

From Staff And Wire Reports

A North Side bank was robbed Friday night by a man who told a teller he had a gun.

The teller told police a man walked up to her window at Wells Fargo Bank, 6228 N. Monroe, and demanded money about 6 p.m. He walked out the west door of the branch with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

Another teller called police when she saw the man and realized he was robbing the teller. However, the man left while she was on the phone.

The robber was described as black, about 6-feet-1 inch tall and 160 pounds. He was wearing a dark-colored coat with a hood, a black baseball cap and dark sunglasses.
