Man Hurt In Wreck On Slushy Highway

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 70-year-old Rockford, Wash., man was listed in critical condition late Sunday after a two-car accident south of Spokane.

Gene T. Anderson was airlifted to Deaconess Medical Center after the accident, which happened about 7 p.m. Saturday on state Highway 27 near Elder Road.

Anderson was in the passenger’s seat as his wife, Nadine, drove their sedan south on the highway.

A northbound Chevrolet Blazer driven by Jennifer Strodtz, 25, of Oakesdale, Wash., crossed the center line and struck the Andersons’ car, according to the Washington State Patrol.

There was heavy slush on the road, the WSP said.

Neither Strodtz nor Nadine Anderson was seriously injured.
