Simpson May Get Custody Of Kids, Paper Reports
A judge could rule as soon as Friday in O.J. Simpson’s custody case, the Daily News has learned - and sources on both sides are predicting she’ll give the ex-athlete his kids back.
“Things are looking good for Simpson,” one source said.
The closed-door custody hearing, pitting Simpson against his former in-laws, is slated to wrap this week after nearly three weeks of contentious testimony.
A lawyer appointed by the court to represent the interests of Sydney Simpson, 11, and 8-year-old Justin, has recommended to Orange County Judge Nancy Weiben-Stock that they be returned to Simpson, sources said.
The sources said that judging from her courtroom remarks and rulings on objections, Weiben-Stock isn’t buying arguments that Simpson is an unfit parent because of alleged past domestic violence.
The ex-gridiron great also has allayed concerns that the youngsters may be shunted off to a nanny by promising that his sister Shirley Baker will care for the kids whenever he’s away.
