The Tacoma News-Tribune offered an all-time Washington high school football team.
The timing behind the project isn’t clear, but that doesn’t diminish the intrigue of “A Classic Team, Washington High School Football Dream Team.”
To see every name, including the list of 300 considered for the team, check out the web site (http:/ /www.tribnet.com/projects/ dreamtm).
The only Spokane-area players to make it are Cheney defensive lineman Steve Emtman, who went on to an All-America career at Washington before being the first pick in the NFL draft, and kicker Randy Jones of Ferris. Jones, who is at UW now, kicked five field goals longer than 50 yards.
While surfing the TNT, check out a feature by prep writer Gary Brooks on the South Kitsap football program under Spokane native Ed Fisher.
Where are they now

No doubt Central Valley junior Lindsey Shoquist was shocked to see she scored 18 points in a win over Eisenhower in Yakima last Saturday, since she was home with the flu. Somehow, she got Andrea Kallas’ points in our box score.
At least that game was reported. Two other preseason games got lost.
Jay Humphrey called in University’s 66-57 win over Moses Lake on Saturday, but the box score disappeared in cyber space.
A week earlier, the Mead girls won 49-25 in Moses Lake. However, the scorebook was misplaced so the results weren’t called in.
