Sister Says She’ll Testify For Prosecution
The sister of bombing defendant Timothy McVeigh says if she’s called to testify, it would be for the prosecution, “Dateline NBC” reports.
“I love my brother to death and I want nothing more than to support him and be on his side,” Jennifer McVeigh said in excerpts of her interview released Wednesday by the TV news magazine. “Yet I really had no choice but to - you know. And if I get called to testify, it’s going to be for the prosecution.”
The interview is scheduled to be aired Tuesday.
McVeigh and Terry Nichols are accused of the April 19 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, which killed 169 people and injured more than 500.
Federal authorities have said that Jennifer McVeigh shares anti-government views with her brother.
Jennifer McVeigh has cooperated with authorities, giving them typewritten statements about her brother’s activities. Last summer, she appeared before a federal grand jury that returned indictments against McVeigh and Nichols. She was granted immunity from prosecution.
