Valley Home Hit By Gunfire

From Staff Reports

Gunfire erupted in front of a Spokane Valley house late Monday, shattering a front window and filling the home with bullets.

Sheriff’s deputies said a group of people walked up to a house in the 4700 block of North Lillian and opened fire about 11:30 p.m.

Bullets from a small-caliber handgun tore through the ceiling and walls, and bounced off the piano. Deputies found seven bullet casings in a flower bed under two tall front windows.

A 37-year-old woman was downstairs watching television when the shooting started. Her 14-year-old daughter was asleep in an upstairs bedroom. Neither was injured.

A neighbor saw a car leaving the area shortly after the blasts, said sheriff’s Lt. David Wiyrick.

The homeowners, who refused to give their names, said they did not know who did the shooting or why.

Other witnesses are asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
