Turner Sports Drops Moon From Nfl, Nba Broadcasts

Compiled From Wire Services

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Warren Moon, accused of misdemeanor spousal abuse in a trial, was dropped from Turner Sports’ NFL and NBA broadcast teams, the network said Wednesday.

“We notified Warren Moon and his agent in January that his services would no longer be needed on our sports programming,” Turner Sports said in a statement. “His final appearance for us was on our Super Bowl coverage. We wish him well in the future.”

Moon started with Turner Sports last March, and he had an option year on his contract that was renewable next month.

Meanwhile, in Richmond, Texas, site of Moon’s spouseabuse trial, conflicting marital portraits were presented to jurors as testimony began.

Moon, 39, is charged with Class A misdemeanor assault for allegedly striking, choking and scratching his wife, Felicia, at their home in Missouri City, Texas, a suburb of Houston. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of a $4,000 fine and a year in prison.
