Clinton To Speak At Community College
President Clinton’s visit here Saturday will include a speech at Shoreline Community College.
The college was selected for the presidential visit because of the achievements of its job-retraining programs, school spokeswoman Susan Stoltzsuss said Wednesday.
The programs have nearly 100 percent success in placing trainees in new jobs, and the positions often pay twice as much as the old jobs that workers lost, Stoltzsuss said.
Clinton’s speech at Shoreline will be a ticket-only event for fewer than 2,000 people and is not open to the public, the spokeswoman said.
Clinton is tentatively scheduled to arrive in Seattle from California Saturday afternoon and to depart Saturday evening.
