Students Receive WSU Scholarships
Three Spokane-area students have received scholarships from the Washington State University College of Pharmacy:
Andrea Rickard, a 1993 Mead High School graduate, was awarded a $1,000 Dorothy O. Kennedy Endowed Scholarship. Rickard has also been recognized by Rho Chi, the pharmacy honor society, and is a member of the Golden Key Honor Society. She is the daughter of Wayne and Sherry Rickard.
Steve Thompson, son of Betty L. Thompson of Spokane, received a $1,000 Shopko Stores Scholarship. Thompson, a Shadle Park graduate and a third-year pharmaceutical student, was selected for his academic achievements and extracurricular activities in pharmacy. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Eta Sigma and Alpha Lambda Delta scholastic honoraries.
Kristal Morris, daughter of Dan and Diane Morris, Valleyford, and a Freeman High School graduate, received a $1,000 George H. Watt Memorial Scholarship.
Ethan Herdrick, a 1995 economics graduate of Washington State University, scored in the top 3 percent of economics students nationwide on the Educational Testing Service Examination. Herdrick, a 1990 graduate of Odessa (Wash.) High School, traveled to Mexico to study Spanish at the University of Guadalajara after graduating from WSU. He is the son of Mel and Ann Herdrick.
Tatiana Pitstick, a senior at Carroll College, Helena, was awarded a $250 book scholarship from Alpha Delta Kappa, a Helena women’s teaching honor sorority. Pitstick is a Spanish-education major.
Staff Sgt.Douglas and Rosie Blancher won the Yard of the Year Award at Malstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, Mont. Douglas Blancher is a 1973 graduate of Rogers High School.
