Taste: The Meat Of The Matter

Sometimes a sausage comes along that’s so tasty it deserves a little respect - like the title “Mr. Sausage.”

Mr. and Mrs. Sausage - Phill and Barbara Nadeau of Spokane - make some 600 pounds of spicy, smoky German sausage, hot links, beer and turkey wurst and beef and pepper sticks each week at their plant in Endicott, Wash.

Also available are preservative-free, fresh-frozen sausages including potato, bratwurst, Italian, pork links and chorizo.

Price: $2.49 to $4.99 per pound by mail (plus shipping); store prices will vary.
