Colville, EV Tie For Frontier League Crown

The Frontier League wrestling standings ended in a dead heat - sort of. Colville and East Valley both won on Thursday to finish at 5-1.

Colville, however, beat EV earlier in the week and was never beaten on points alone. The Indians forfeited their meet against West Valley when one of their wrestlers head-butted an official into unconsciousness.

At Chattaroy, visiting Colville won four of the last five matches, two by forfeit, to bounce back from a 27-18 deficit for a 41-31 win over Riverside (2-4).

For the Rams, Paul Purcell (141), Dan Kruger (158) and Matt Morin (168) completed undefeated league seasons. Purcell pinned Justin Divis, who had been unbeaten in league.

At WV, Gary Adamson (108) and Mike Eastman (135) had big wins and Quinton Chapman (129) beat Josh Ludwig 16-8 after moving up from junior varsity as visiting EV won 46-22.

Ty Roberts (101) and Josh Kelp (190) had pins for the Eagles (3-3), who suffered a blow when Andy Imada (148) popped his sternum while winning.
