Netanyahu May Drop West Bank Fence Plan

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling for economic “openness” with the Palestinians, said Tuesday he was not committed to the previous government’s plan to fence off the West Bank.

Netanyahu, who begins his first official visit to the United States next week, has already eased a four-month closure that has crippled the Palestinian economy by keeping tens of thousands of Palestinians from their jobs in Israel.
