Spokane Man, Boy Killed In Accident

A South Hill man and a 4-year-old boy were killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 in western Montana.

The victims were driver James Thomas Harwood, 39, and Joal Thomas Harwood, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

The child was ejected when the eastbound van went off the highway near Haugan, Mont., and rolled several times into a barrow pit, the patrol said.

Brandy Harwood, 14, also was ejected and was hospitalized in Superior in stable condition. Cheryl Harwood, 37, suffered minor injuries.

The accident occurred at 4 p.m. Tuesday after the driver braked hard on the roadway for unknown reasons, the patrol said. , DataTimes
