Mcnutt Helps Royals Bolt Past Bandits

Aaron McNutt drove in three runs Wednesday, including two with a seventh-inning double, as the Royals beat the Bandits 14-10 in an American Legion AAA game at Shadle Park’s Al K. Jackson Field.

Austin McDonald, Tysen Blank and Mark Milbourn added two hits apiece, and Robert Messer scored four runs for the Royals (1-2). Kris Krieder had two doubles and two RBIs for the Bandits (1-1), who scored four times in the seventh and left two runners on base.

Washington State senior center fielder Rob Ryan, formerly of Shadle, was selected in the 26th round of the amateur draft by the expansion Arizona Diamondbacks.

Ryan will begin negotiations with the Diamondbacks today and leave Sunday for minicamp in Phoenix.

The Diamondbacks begin play in 1998.
