Stanley Cup Opener Surpasses 1995

The opener of the Stanley Cup finals between Florida and Colorado on Tuesday night drew a 3.7 rating and 7 share on Fox.

Last year’s Stanley Cup opener between New Jersey and Detroit produced a 3.2 rating on Fox, the network said Wednesday.

Each rating point represents 959,000 homes. The share represents the percentage of TV sets in use.

For the competing cities, Denver had a rating of 28.3 and a 48 share while Miami had a 22.7 rating and 35 share. Fox’s highest rating for hockey came in January’s All-Star game - a 4.1 rating and 7 share.
