Family Accepts Settlement In Kingdome Crane Accident
Relatives of a sandblaster who died when a crane collapsed inside the Kingdome have accepted an undisclosed sum to settle a lawsuit against two contractors.
The agreement was reached by Ness Crane Service Inc., the crane operator, and Pacific Components Inc., the general contractor on ceiling repairs at the Kingdome, with survivors of William Louth of Portland.
Louth and Jorge Turincio of San Diego died Aug. 17, 1994, when they fell 250 feet to the floor of the stadium after the boom of the crane hit the ceiling and collapsed.
A similar suit against the two employers was brought by relatives of Turincio, who settled with Pacific Components for an undisclosed sum on March 7 and are still negotiating with Ness Crane.
