Giants Say Hampton Will Stay
Rodney Hampton, the New York Giants’ career rushing leader, will be staying right where he is, one of the team’s owners said.
Hampton signed a six-year, $16.45 million offer sheet with the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday. On Sunday, Giants co-owner Robert Tisch said the team is not about to let Hampton go.
“Rodney Hampton will be a Giant next year,” Tisch told the MSG Network during a New York Knicks game. “We’re going to match the offer (Monday).”
