Cuba To Market A New, Small Cigar

Cuba will offer a new, small cigar this year, according to the head of the country’s state tobacco marketer.

The new cigar, known as “Cuaba,” will be about the size of a cigarette, Francisco Linares, director-general of Habanos S.A., told the government’s Prensa Latina news agency on Thursday.

He said it would be marketed first in Britain, though in limited quantities.

He noted that Cuba still is unable to produce enough tobacco to meet world demand for its cigars, which have been regarded for generations as the world’s finest - and most expensive.
