Barkley Shows Off For Phoenix Fans

Leave it to Charles Barkley to know when to put on a show.

Barkley came up with one of the best games of his life Saturday night, grabbing a career-high 33 rebounds and scoring 20 points at Phoenix to lead the Houston Rockets to a 110-95 win over the Phoenix Suns, his former team.

The 33 rebounds were the most since Rony Seikaly had 34 for the Miami Heat on March 3, 1993.

Arena deal

After months of on-again, off-again talks, the Atlanta Hawks reached agreement with city officials to build a $215 million arena in downtown Atlanta.

The new arena, if approved by municipal authorities, would open for the 1999-2000 season.
