Northwest Spokane House Hit By Third Act Of Vandalism
A smashed window and firecrackers tossed into a northwest Spokane house early Friday was the third recent act of vandalism at the home.
Residents of the house in the 3400 block of west Providence heard a loud crash and what sounded like a series of gunshots and called police.
Officers found a concrete block and a string of firecrackers in a room in the rear of the house.
Heat from the firecrackers caused fire damage to a couch, curtains and furniture, so police are investigating the incident as arson, said department spokesman Dick Cottam.
The victim said this was the third time in the past several weeks someone damaged property at the house.
The first incident, which police did not describe, caused $2,500 damage to a car. A car tire also was slashed in a separate incident.
