Byu Reveals Finances
Brigham Young University spent more than $14 million on athletics last year, the Mormon Church-owned school said in its first-ever disclosure of athletic department finances.
As a private university, BYU previously was not required by law to release its athletic budget. But the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act of 1994 required that all colleges and universities receiving federal money, such as student Pell Grants, make their 1995-96 budgets public this fall.
