Cow’s Desperate Bid For Life Ends On I-90

From Staff And Wire Reports

Grant County sheriff’s deputies shot and killed a stray cow that charged them on Interstate 90 near Moses Lake on Thursday.

The bovine got loose about 11:50 a.m. as it was being delivered to Vern’s Meats in Moses Lake.

Citizens and authorities tried several times to corral the cow, but it eluded them and ran into the eastbound lanes of Interstate 90, deputies said.

Authorities stopped traffic and tried to chase the cow off the freeway, but it charged them and hit a patrol car, causing nearly $1,000 damage. Deputies then shot it.

The carcass was taken to Vern’s Meats, deputies said.
