Silver Mountain Cuts Lift Prices
In a departure from big ski resort pricing, Silver Mountain Resort in Kellogg lowered its weekend and weekday lift ticket prices for the upcoming ski season.
A weekend and holiday lift ticket that cost an adult skier $31 last year will cost $28 this year, the resort announced. The big drop comes with weekday passes, which will sell for $20 for adults compared with $31 last season.
Eagle Crest Partners of Redmond, Ore., bought the right to operate the ski resort in May, and has invested several hundred thousand dollars in improvements around the resort.
“As far as we know, this could be the best skiing value in the galaxy,” said Terry Turnbow, general manager of the resort. “(Our skiers) keep telling us they want affordable skiing at a quality resort.”
Silver Mountain will reopen its Alpenrose restaurant in the Mountain Haus Lodge. The restaurant will have a more upscale look with linen tablecloths.
The ski resort does not have an opening date yet, though snow continues to fall in the Silver Valley. Neighboring Lookout Pass Ski Area will open today.
