Apple Cup To Be Shown On Fox With A 3:30 P.M. Start Nov. 23
Fox Sports will televise the Nov. 23 Apple Cup football game live from Martin Stadium on a regional basis at 3:30 p.m., the Pacific-10 Conference announced Monday.
The starting time represents a victory for Washington State athletic director Rick Dickson, who was opposed to a 7:15 start for this year’s installment of the annual game against Washington.
As part of the arrangement, there will be no Pac-10 game at 7:15 that Saturday. Instead, Fox will televise two 3:30 games regionally (Arizona State-Arizona and UW-WSU).
The Apple Cup will be produced by Fox and shown locally on Prime affiliates. The UCLA-Southern California game will be carried by ABC at 12:30.
WSU has played two 7:15 games this season, and Dickson told Fox and the Pac-10 he wouldn’t accept a third night game.
Some feared Dickson’s stand would keep the Apple Cup from being televised, but a settlement was reached during a conference telephone call Monday. , DataTimes
