Anniversary Celebration Marks Church’s 85th Year
North Hill Christian Church, 4620 N. Post, is celebrating its 85th anniversary this weekend.
A quickly built wooden structure was the church’s first home. That was replaced on the same site by a brick building, which cost 25 cents per brick to build and furnish.
A special service will be at 11 a.m. Sunday. All church members who are 85 or older will be honored. The service will be followed by a special coffee hour at 12:15 p.m.
Historical items such as old pictures, newspaper articles, and old newsletters will be on display.
Concert at Fourth Memorial
A praise concert by the Ambassador Choir of the Multonomah Bible College and Biblical Seminary in Portland takes place Friday at 7 p.m. at Fourth Memorial Church, 2000 N. Standard.
The concert will combine classical and contemporary selections and short dramatic scenes.

St. Paul celebrates
St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2159 N. Hamilton, will celebrate its 81st anniversary on Sunday.
At its current site since 1957, the church will celebrate with a special luncheon immediately following the 10:30 a.m. service.
Conversation with O’Keefe
“A Conversation With Georgia O’Keefe” will be presented by Sara Edlin Marlowe at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 4340 W. Fort George Wright Drive.
The cost of the event is $12. All proceeds will be used to purchase a new church sign.

Trinity festival and bazaar
Trinity United Methodist Church, 1725 E. Bridgeport, is having its fall festival turkey dinner and bazaar today.
Bazaar hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost of the dinner is $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for children ages 6 to 12. Children under the age of six are free.

St. Andrew’s harvest dinner
St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 2404 N. Howard, is having its annual harvest dinner at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under $12. Proceeds will help support Omega, a church-sponsored outreach center for low-income families.
