Explosion Kills 13 Police Officers

An explosion at a police station in southern India today killed 13 police officers and one civilian. Police blamed a Maoist militant group.

The explosion happened at a station in Sirpur, 162 miles north of the state capital, Hyderabad.

Police blamed members of the People’s War Group, an outlawed organization that claims to fight for the rights of lower-caste people.
