Teacher To Fight Face-Painting Fiasco
A white kindergarten teacher who quit under fire for writing “Where are my glasses?” on the face of a 5-year-old black girl said Sunday she wants her job back.
Phyllis Adelsflugel, who used face-painting as a teaching tool and a reward, said she did not mean to embarrass Nina Campbell and only meant the marking “as a reminder” for the girl to wear her spectacles to school.
The incident split the community between people who said they supported a creative teacher who made a mistake and others who called the marking racially motivated.
