Florida Administrator Named New Sacred Heart President

From Staff And Wire Reports

An administrator for a Florida-based hospital management firm was named Sacred Heart Medical Center’s new president Monday.

Ryland “Skip” P. Davis, 55, will start in December, the Spokane hospital announced.

Davis is now senior vice president for the Hunter Group and specializes in interim health-care management projects.

As part of that job, Davis is currently serving as interim chief executive officer for St. Catherine’s Hospital in Kenosha, Wis.

Davis will replace Gerald Leahy, who retired in July after running Sacred Heart for eight years.

The new president has spent the past 25 years in the health-care field, working for nonprofit and for-profit hospitals, clinics, managed-care operations and hospital-management firms.

The consulting firm of Witt/Kieffer spearheaded the search for candidates after meeting with a cross-section of community leaders, physicians, employees and board members.
